Bicycling and Walking Issues Identified and Discussed in the
Camden County Lake Area Master Plan Preliminary Draft
In September 2009, Camden County issued its preliminary draft of the Lake Area Master Plan. The plan establishes a vision for the
Camden County Planning and Zoning District that will guide growth and development in the district over the next 20
years.
The plan runs 134 pages, and an appendix runs another 51 pages. Excerpts relating only to walking and bicycling issues are addressed here.
One of the goals expressed in Chapter 3: Community Vision is to increase transportation choices, including the opportunity to walk and bike safely. Strategies to meet this goal are outlined on pages 3-8 and 3-9 of the draft. Click on the image below to view these two pages.
Chapter 4: Future Development Guide offers ideas for expanding the use of biking and walking in local transportation on pages 4-67 to 4-73. Click on the image below to view these pages.
The Appendix contains a five-page overview of existing walking and biking facilities in the area. Click on the image below to view them.
